The table illustrates the variation rate in Hong Kong exports during 2009 and 2010 in five different categories, including equipment, telecommunication, clothing, manufacturing, and metals.
Overall, it is evident that an upward trend could be observed in total changes. The change in the category of metals was the largest number, while the manufacturing one was the smallest.
Looking at the table more closely, it is clear that overall change increased during this period, from 32 billion in 2009 to 38.4 billion in 2010, representing a one-fifth increase. The change in metals had the highest percentage increase (122%) in this table; however, the change in manufacturing was the smallest number (-27%). Additionally, clothing exports also experienced a downward trend, with a -27% change, ranking the second position with negative growth.
Both of export numbers for equipment and telecommunication showed an upward trend, with changes of 13% and 61% (nearly two-thirds) respectively. Moreover, it is noticeable that the export number for telecommunication in 2010 reached the highest figure at 12.7 billion, and the figure for equipment was also over 10 billion, specifically 11.6 billion.
