The pie chart illustrates the proportion of expenditure on various departments by the UAE government in 2000.

Overall, it is clear that a huge amount of money was expended on social security in the surveyed year, whereas this figure for transportation was incredibly low.

Looking at the pie chart more closely, one can see that social security occupied the largest amount of expenditure (100 billion), while transport was the smallest figure (9 billion). The figure of health and personal social services was the second largest amount of spending in this pie chart, with 53 billion and its proportion was approximately twenty percent. The figure for education took up 38 billion, ranking third position in the pie chart, which was roughly 2 times higher than that for housing the heritage and environment, at 15 billion. The fractions for defense, debt interest and other expenditure were almost the same, which was 22 billion, 22 billion and 23 billion respectively. In addition, over 15 billion was expended on law and order in comparison with only 13 billion of that in terms of industry, agriculture and employment.
