In recent times, people have been consuming more food than ever before, leading to potential health issues such as cancer or disease. Some individuals argue that increasing the prices of sugary products could discourage customers from excessive sugar consumption. However, I do not support this viewpoint and I will illustrate two underlying reasons in this essay.

Sugar manufactures primarily prioritize profit over health concerns. Placing the burden solely on these companies is not fair, as poor health can result from a variety of factors, including genetics, personal behaviors, habits, and environmental influences. It is acknowledged that the excessive sugar intake can contribute some illness like obesity, but raising the price of products will not deter consumers who have a strong preference for sugary drinks and sweets. Moreover, such a price increase could lead to economic and financial challenges for society. Instead, the government should consider implementing polices that mandate clear and informative labeling of nutritional content, enhancing transparency for consumers.

Another significant contributing factor is a lack of physical activity, which can lead to obesity or even cancer. This sedentary lifestyle becomes more prevalent as people age, contributing to various health problems. To address this, authorities should promote slogans like “three times a week at least 30 minutes” or offer health education programs to raise awareness among citizens. Engaging in regular physical activity not only decreases health problems but extends one’s lifespan. For individuals who claim they lack time for structured sports courses due to busy work schedules, research has shown that simple changes, such as walking ten thousand steps daily or opting for stairs over elevators, can serve as effective exercise.

In conclusion, raising the prices of sugary products may not be the most effective solution to combat health problems and could lead to unintended economic consequences. Instead, the government should focus on promoting physical activity through slogans or lessons. It is possible that sports can decrease the rate of health issues and span one’s lifespan.
